Today, I am 3 years diet coke free. Today, for 10 seconds, I heard my child-to-be’s heartbeat (and then it moved away to parts unknown). I didn’t expect to hear anything yet, so that was pretty
crazy cool. All of the routine pre-natal blood work run was normal and good, except I’m not considered immune to measles anymore. I am up-to-date on my vaccines, so that surprised me.
I’ve been trying to think on what I want to accomplish this year. Other than what I wrote about in my last post. I think a year is too far to plan. Right now, I feel so limited in what I can accomplish. Some cross stitching. And… catching up on Fringe? Does that count? (no)
I would definitely like to make a baby blanket or two or three. There are several new-borns or soon-to-be-borns among friends and acquaintances. Of course that requires a sewing machine. There are two around here… I really have no excuse for not pursuing this other than setting up a sewing area (which, in my defense, is so much easier said than done).
My orchid jungle is not doing that great, right now. I suspect they are too cold. Although I do have one orchid creating a flower stem. It’s my most reliable orchid.
The husband and I have signed up for another bee class! We took a beekeeping class last year, but we never had a hive and there were several topics that the instructor didn’t cover in detail because they weren’t applicable to the arid Denver climate. We’re really looking forward to this program, which involves working with a mentor and getting hands-on experience with their hives.
