Huzzah! I’ve finished the mystery portion of the Swedish Mystery Quilt. The top is lap-quilt sized. I’m going to see what the husband thinks, and depending on his opinion I’ll either add borders or finish it as is. I really don’t care, so it’s nice to have someone else around who’ll have an opinion 🙂 It would look lovely as a lap-quilt draped over the back of the couch, and it would look lovely as a quilt on a bed.
I’m surprised at how good the thing turned out. The blocks (before assembling the top) were supposed to be 9.5″. I had to cut them to 9.25″. I don’t have fabric to add borders or backing, so this will be going in the closet for an indeterminate amount of time.
Now that I’m finished with that, I’m slowly working on the BOM block… applique! grr! I may invest in a new sewing machine just so I can machine applique. *ahem* And other than that, I have a couple cute jelly roll patterns to start on.
